The KC1000 with Kingston logo is one of the high performance solutions that use the modern PCIe NVMe interface. This can be up to twice as fast in data transfers as conventional SATA interfaces for SSDs and up to 40 times faster than a 7200 rpm hard drive. The interface can take full advantage of the maximum transfer rate of KC1000, which reaches up to 2700 MB / s.
If you ask why computers must have additional interfaces and why SATA is no longer enough, then the answer is relatively easy. While SATA was developed primarily for hard drives, NVMe (this version 1.2 disc) is specially designed for flash memory and reduces the many bottlenecks in the system. It also allows immediate access to data.
The drive comes in M.2 2280 format with NVMe PCIe Gen 3.0. MLC devices use Phison PS5007-E7 controllers. Sequential read / write speeds up to 2700, respectively. 1600 MB / sec. Up to 1 PB data can be written to the unit. The mean time between failures is 2 million hours.
