Kenko filter Celeste PL-C 77mm

The Celeste series of filters is the highest in the Kenko range, which was developed primarily with the needs of professional photographers in mind. This is a world-class circular polarizing filter that combines uncompromising optical quality, efficient light reflection filtering, ASC finish and a newly designed, ultra-slim, elegant and highly ergonomic frame. It eliminates unwanted reflections of non-metallic objects, suppresses reflections from water surfaces, while enhancing the contrast and saturation of outdoor scenes with deeper color tones. It guarantees near zero negative effect on the transmitted light, the overall color balance of the image is not impaired by the filter. Last but not least, it protects the front lens element from mechanical damage. Celesta filters satisfy the highest demands of professional photographers for quality and ease of maintenance.

The name Celeste is derived from the Latin word "caelestis", meaning: wonderful, beyond human possibilities, and the Italian "celeste" indicating the color of the bright sky.

The Celeste C-PL filters have an 18-layer Super ZR anti-reflective coating, an improved version of the anti-reflective surface of the older Zeta professional range. With this technology, the reflectivity of the filter is 0.3%, which is an incredibly low value for a polarizing filter.

ASC (Anti-Stain Coating) is a new filter coating technology that allows moisture and water drops to slip out of the filter and leave it clean. Likewise, dust and other impurities do not stick so strongly to the smooth surface of the filter, so wiping is an instant. The entire filter maintenance process is made easier thanks to the ASC layer, reduced to a minimum, and is not required to be performed as often as this is reflected in the overall filter life. The ASC layer is on both sides of the filter.

Thanks to the highly transparent polarizing layer used, Celeste polarizing filters pass 25% more light than the top C-PL filters of other brands.

The filter frame is the result of long-term, intensive research by engineers in Kenko's development labs. Thinner than the thin frames of other manufacturers, it allows for safe fitting of the lens cap, extended inner diameter eliminates vignetting.
